It Is Encouraging That the Issue of Artsakh Will Be Discussed in the UN Security Council: Beglaryan

It is encouraging that the issue of Artsakh will be discussed in the United Nations Security Council today. This was stated by the former Prime Minister of the Republic of Artsakh and former Human Rights Defender Artak Beglaryan on his Facebook page.

"It is encouraging that the issue of Artsakh will be discussed in the UN Security Council today. Although the discussion is held in a closed format, it already signifies the internationalization of the issue. I hope that the UN will pay greater attention to both short-term and long-term solutions to the problems, fulfilling its obligations and utilizing all possible mechanisms," he wrote.

It should be noted that on the morning of December 12, a group of Azerbaijanis in civilian clothes closed the Stepanakert-Goris highway connecting Artsakh to Armenia under environmental pretexts near the Shushi-Karin Tak intersection. The same occurred on December 3. After more than three hours of negotiations with Russian peacekeepers, the road was reopened for both sides.

Since December 13, the Azerbaijani side has also cut off gas supplies to Artsakh. People were deprived of heating, hot water, and medical facilities were unable to provide essential medical assistance. Classes were suspended in educational institutions in Artsakh that are heated by gas. However, it was reported yesterday that gas supply to Artsakh has been restored.
