Fifth Day of Disconnected Communication Between Mets Shen and Stepanakert

Due to Azerbaijan's closure of the Stepanakert-Goris interstate highway, the communication of the Mets Shen community in the Berdadzor subregion with the capital Stepanakert has also been cut off for the fifth consecutive day. As a result of the blockade of the only road linking Artsakh to Armenia, some residents remain in Mets Shen, as reported by the community head Davit Davtyan in a conversation with the Artsakhpress correspondent. Currently, the residents of the village are not lacking in essentials.

“Naturally, the absence of connectivity with the capital is concerning and could pose vital issues for our residents if it persists for a long time,” noted Davtyan.

He informed that some individuals stranded on the road have found shelter in Mets Shen. “We have also accommodated some of our compatriots in our home,” said the community head, adding that classes continue in the village school, with classroom heating provided by electric heaters.
