Criminal Case Launched Against Woman in Kamchatka for Defending Her Daughter's Rapist
A criminal case has been opened against a woman in Kamchatka who defended her daughter's rapist. This information has been reported by the regional investigative committee, as conveyed by Gazeta.ru.
According to the agency, during the investigation, the mother of the nine-year-old daughter provided false testimony in an attempt to protect her daughter's rapist, a cohabitant. The woman claimed that the man did not participate in the crime. However, her testimony was completely refuted by the evidence, leading to a ruling in September of this year, in which the man was found guilty.
A criminal case has now been initiated against the woman for giving false testimony. Law enforcement officials are continuing their investigation.
Earlier, it was reported that in the Saratov region, a stepfather who raped his stepdaughter received a 17-year prison sentence.
