We Must Operate the Airport: Ruben Vardanyan's Interview with Kommersant

Ruben Vardanyan, the Prime Minister of the Republic of Artsakh, gave an interview to Kommersant and spoke about the current situation in Artsakh.

Vardanyan emphasized the urgent need for the opening of a humanitarian air corridor to the Republic of Artsakh. He noted that they are developing a system to ensure that the population is provided with everything necessary under complete blockade conditions.

“We must operate the airport. For this, international organizations and pressure from all countries are needed to open a humanitarian corridor, allowing planes with humanitarian cargo to land at Stepanakert Airport. This is the only way to avoid dependence on Azerbaijan. An international agreement is necessary to allow humanitarian flights to Artsakh. This is a crucial condition for us, as a community, to maintain our presence here. So that such situations do not repeat,” Vardanyan stated.

“The airport is fully ready to operate,” he added.
