«We Are All Equal Before the Law»: A Working Consultation Led by Vardanian

The Minister of State of the Republic of Artsakh and head of the operational headquarters, Ruben Vardanian, held a working consultation today to discuss issues related to ensuring the normal livelihood of the population amid the situation created by the blockade of Artsakh by Azerbaijan.

Opening the consultation, Minister Vardanian emphasized the strict adherence to the rules of the state of martial law by all state bodies and the manifestation of high discipline.

“We are all equal before the law; the position held cannot give any advantage in resolving matters. Only with this approach can we overcome challenges and also the feeling of injustice,” stressed Vardanian.

During the consultation, sector leaders reported to the Minister about the current situation regarding the available reserves of food, fuel, medications, and other essential goods in the markets of those product groups.

Addressing potential manifestations of inflation, the Minister found it unacceptable for business operators to take advantage of such a challenging situation to raise prices unnecessarily. He also instructed the responsible parties to compile a list of vital products in addition to essential food items, such as infant food and other types of goods that require priority provision.

The situation regarding energy supply was also presented, and measures were discussed that would help minimize electricity shortages. The importance of timely payments for consumed electricity was emphasized.

It was also reported that there are sufficient reserves of flour in the Republic, and bread production is proceeding normally. The possibility of ensuring large bread producers with alternative fuels and other energy supply methods was also discussed.

The Minister once again highlighted the importance of providing the public with proper information. It should be noted that there is a hotline operating 24/7 to ensure feedback with citizens, with the numbers 119 from Artsakh, and +374-47-119-119 from the Republic of Armenia and abroad.
