Video: Ships Anchored in Lake Baikal Have Frozen Over

Due to a storm, ferry operations to Olkhon Island have been suspended as ice formations have appeared on the ships anchored near the ferry leading to Olkhon Island. Since December 12, 2022, the 'Sakhyurta-Olkhon Island' ferries have halted their services.

According to the Irkutsk region's road construction and operational management, this suspension is due to the storm and increasing wind strength, with gusts reaching up to 30 meters per second.
