Minasyan on Today's Extraordinary Parliament Session: What the Presented Bill Addresses
The National Assembly, initiated by the "Hayastan" and "Honorary" factions, will convene an extraordinary session on December 14 at 14:00. In a briefing with journalists, Arzvik Minasyan, the secretary of the "Hayastan" faction, stated that the bill they presented pertains to condemning Azerbaijan's periodic closure of the Lachin Corridor, its provocative actions, the blockade of Artsakh, and aims to deprive the Armenian population of Artsakh of their homeland. The bill also calls on the international community and expresses support for the peacekeepers of the Russian Federation, expecting a more robust response from them.
"The National Assembly's reaction is very important, considering that the National Assembly of the Republic of Artsakh has also appealed to Armenia. Today, it is highly likely that at 13:00, the Council of the National Assembly will convene, and one hour later, the extraordinary session of the National Assembly will take place. At this moment, there is no clarity on the position of the 'Civil Contract' faction. The bill we submitted yesterday has been reviewed by them, and they proposed an amendment concerning a provision that clearly states in our draft declaration that Azerbaijan's genocidal policies once again prove that Artsakh cannot be part of Azerbaijan and that the guarantee of the life and rights of the Armenian population of Artsakh is the realization of the right to self-determination of the people of Artsakh. They have objections to this provision," Minasyan stated.
