How Azerbaijan Managed to Halt Gas Supply to Artsakh While Armenia Supplies Gas to the Region

Azerbaijani company "Azerigaz" has issued a statement claiming that the Azerbaijani side is not responsible for the cessation of gas supply to Artsakh. They noted that gas supply in the region is conducted by Armenia and is not integrated into Azerbaijan's gas supply system.

In response to Azerbaijani claims, the Ministry of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure of Armenia reminded, in a conversation with Radar Armenia, that on March 7 of this year, the gas pipeline supplying gas to Artsakh was blown up in areas under Azerbaijani control. After Azerbaijan repaired the pipeline, they installed a valve. They also highlighted that subsequently, on March 21, without any explosions, Azerbaijan simply closed the valve of the gas pipeline.

“The Azerbaijani side can shut the valve on the pipeline at any time, resulting in a halt in gas supply. That valve is located in the Lachin corridor, and the announcement made by the Azerbaijani side is absurd. Of course, gas comes from Armenia, but the installed valve is under their control, which was placed there after the incident on March 7,” said the Ministry of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure.

It should be noted that Azerbaijan has ceased gas supply to Nagorno-Karabakh since yesterday.
