Where are the Azerbaijanis, where is the environmentalism: Kandelaki on the situation in Artsakh

Famous television presenter and deputy general director of the Gazprom-Media holding, Tina Kandelaki commented on the closure of the only road connecting Artsakh to Armenia by the Azerbaijani authorities on her Telegram channel.

“Evil always hides behind the mask of a sheep. In recent years, this mask has been worn by numerous organizations, individuals, and foundations that call themselves environmentalists and human rights advocates. They attack people, cities, and entire states, concocting various reasons for it.

The barely murmuring girl Greta Thunberg literally brought the leadership of the UN and the leaders of European countries to their knees a few years ago, demanding an end to the pollution of the world. When it became clear that she had a private agenda and that her speeches were written by third parties, the girl was thrown out like a rag doll. The puppet's time had expired; she was cast aside, and new ones were brought in.

In the last six months, cities around the world and their museums have been attacked by the newer “eco-activists” of the stopoil movement, who are the successors of Greta's doll. The style is the same, the money comes from oil kings.

Recently, Azerbaijan has taken a bad example by sending ‘environmentalists’ to close the road to Artsakh. But where are the Azerbaijanis, and where is the environmentalism? Azerbaijanis themselves are well aware of the landfills scattered throughout the country and the pollution of the Caspian Sea. They know that the so-called clean area behind the external front is not the cleanest territory but rather one of the most polluted areas, from which toxic winds blow, among other things.

What connection does Artsakh, the land of green spaces and the purest waters, have with this? Perhaps everyone should stick to their own business and not try to hide their problems by attacking neighbors.

In any case, behind each attack from “eco-activists” there are real victims, losses, and scandals. In the case of Artsakh, the victims are the most ordinary and simple people - residents of the republic who are confidently disconnected from environmental issues, their relatives who die in Artsakh hospitals while the road is closed, the elderly who cannot move, schoolchildren, suppliers, and merchants, and grandmothers and grandfathers who will not see their loved ones on Christmas.

I believe there is no worse situation than when falsehood and hatred are disguised under the guise of good intentions. The latter, as you know, paved the way in one direction - to hell,” wrote the presenter.
