Dumanyan Issues Statement After Resignation
Former Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports Vahram Dumanyan has issued a statement, particularly noting:
“Dear compatriots, two years ago, upon accepting the offer to take on the position of Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports, I was guided by the selfless motive of serving our state and homeland. During that challenging time, after the 44-day war, while leading the ministry, I declared from the very first moment that regardless of whether I would be a minister for one day, one week, or one month, within the limits of my powers and responsibilities, I would do everything possible to address the existing issues in the sectors of the ministry and to change the moral-psychological atmosphere in the country.
It is indisputable that there are numerous and diverse issues. Indeed, during my two years of work, the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports has faced a number of challenges, a multitude of crisis situations have been resolved, significant problems have been addressed, and most importantly, the further decline of the ministerial areas has been halted, laying the foundations for development.
Of course, many unresolved problems and questions still exist, and new challenges are emerging. However, I am confident that the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports will continue the process of reforms for the sake of improving education quality, preserving and popularizing cultural heritage, achieving new scientific achievements, and recording new successes in the arts and sports.
I would like to thank Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan for trusting me with the position of Minister. I also express my gratitude to my colleagues in the Government, to the staff of the Ministry and its subordinate committees for our shared journey and hard work, as well as to organizations and individuals in the sectors of the Ministry for their support in solving serious issues.
Dear compatriots, regarding my future activities, just as in the past, I will continue to contribute within my capabilities to strengthening our statehood, and to the work of building a strong, powerful, and prosperous Republic of Armenia.”
