The U.S. Has No Right to Play the Role of Global Policeman, Says China's Foreign Ministry

Beijing opposes interference in the internal affairs of other countries under the pretext of respecting human rights, and the United States has no right to play the role of a "global policeman," said Ma Ning, a spokesperson for China's Foreign Ministry, during a press briefing on Friday, commenting on reports regarding new U.S. sanctions against China and Russia.

The information was reported by RIA Novosti. Earlier, the Wall Street Journal, citing informed sources, reported that the U.S. planned to impose new sanctions against Russia and China on Friday due to alleged violations of human rights in these countries.

"China is categorically opposed to interfering in the internal affairs of other countries under the pretext of respecting human rights. The U.S. has no right to unilaterally impose sanctions on other countries, nor does it have the right to act as a global policeman," said the diplomat.

Ma Ning emphasized that China will take effective measures to resolutely protect its legitimate rights and interests. He also added that China is a responsible country in the field of fishing and has always collaborated with other members of the international community to combat illegal fishing.
