The Topic of the US and Russia Representatives Meeting in Istanbul is Known

The United States and Russia did not discuss the topic of Ukraine at their meeting in Istanbul, as reported by the State Department to RIA Novosti.

Today, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Ryabkov stated that the US and Russia held a meeting in Istanbul regarding visa issues at the level of relevant departments.

"We can confirm that a senior official from the State Department is or was in Istanbul to meet with Russian counterparts on a narrow range of bilateral issues," the official said.

He noted that the State Department would not comment on the "private diplomatic negotiations," adding that the Russian special operation in Ukraine was not discussed during the communications.
