List of Officials Found with Suspects Preparing a Coup in Germany

German police have discovered a list of potential "enemies" among suspects preparing a coup, including Germany's Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock, reports Tageszeitung.

In total, the list includes 18 individuals, including Saskia Esken, leader of Germany's Social Democratic Party, Friedrich Merz, leader of the Christian Democratic Union, as well as journalists and politicians. It is reported that the list of "enemies" was found before the operation to detain the suspects commenced, according to TASS.

The list also includes the names of seven members of the Bundestag. Esken stated that the aggressive threat posed by the “Reich Citizens” movement (a nationalist movement known as Reichsbürger) should not be underestimated. According to her, members of the movement are caught up in conspiracy theories and are willing to bring them to life.

Prosecutors have indicated that the conspirators were planning to storm the Bundestag and take government members and deputies hostage.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of the Interior has declined to comment on the existence of the list, citing an ongoing investigation.

It is worth noting that on Wednesday, German police conducted a large-scale operation against far-right extremists who were planning to storm the German Parliament.
