Chief Prosecutors of Armenia, Russia, and Azerbaijan Meet: What Was Discussed
By the initiative of the Chief Prosecutor of Russia, a trilateral meeting was held in Moscow on December 9, with the participation of Chief Prosecutor of the Republic of Armenia Anna Vardapetyan, Chief Prosecutor of the Russian Federation Igor Krasnov, and Chief Prosecutor of the Republic of Azerbaijan Kamran Aliyev.
Anna Vardapetyan expressed gratitude to her Russian counterpart for the efforts made to organize the meeting in this format and expressed hope that this meeting would provide an opportunity to record specific results and serve the full implementation of humanitarian requirements outlined in the 8th point of the trilateral statement signed by the leaders of the Russian Federation, the Republic of Armenia, and the Republic of Azerbaijan on November 9, 2020.
Vardapetyan emphasized that fulfilling the humanitarian needs stipulated by the trilateral statement is a priority for Armenia, while noting that these needs have not yet been fully met by Azerbaijan. In this context, Vardapetyan pointed out that Armenia has fully fulfilled the requirements pertaining to the principle of 'All for All' outlined in the 8th point. She remarked, “Two years after the signing of the declaration, Armenian prisoners of war continue to be held in Azerbaijan. This behavior by Azerbaijan in no way contributes to the realization of the goals of the trilateral declaration.”
During the meeting, Armenian Chief Prosecutor Vardapetyan also referred to the agreements reached in previous meetings held in this format with the participation of the chief prosecutors of the three countries, noting that Armenia has fulfilled all the agreements.
Vardapetyan again thanked the Russian Chief Prosecutor and emphasized that Armenia expects specific results concerning the implementation of the 8th point of the trilateral declaration.
