Blocked and Difficult Roads in Armenia

The Ministry of Emergency Situations of Armenia reports that there are blocked and difficult roads across the country.

The road from the 'Amberd' high-altitude meteorological station in the Aragatsotn Province to the Amberd Fortress and the Keri Lake is closed. The steep turns of Stepanavan are impassable for trucks with trailers.

In the Gegharkunik Province, on the Vardenis-Kotayk highway, in the area called 'Zanger' and in the Dilijan bends, there is black ice in places. Fog is reported in the city of Goris. Light snow is falling in the regions of Aparan, Vayk, Jermuk, and Vardenis. There is black ice in places on the Voghjaberd-Garni road in the Abovyan region.

Other interstate and national roads are open. According to information from the Georgian Ministry of Internal Affairs’ Emergency Management Agency and the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations’ North Ossetia Crisis Management Center, the Stepanstminda-Lars road is open for all types of vehicles. Drivers are advised to travel only with winter tires.
