Political scientist Suren Surenyants' post on Azerbaijani attempts to impose control in the Lachin corridor:

“Let’s be sober. Tomorrow will be too late... No matter what the relevant officials of Artsakh say, deny, or clarify, it is obvious that the regime in the Lachin corridor is tightening, and this is happening as a result of Russian-Azerbaijani agreements. Our problem is not to refute Volkov’s words or to take on the role of his spokesman, but first and foremost, to hold the mediating platforms accountable for the events that have occurred, so that their response and behavior correspond adequately.

However, this work must be done carefully—without pseudo-patriotism or empty discussions about the Kosovo precedent. Even if the agenda of independence or unification of Artsakh was real years ago (which is questionable), after the 44-day war, such a narrative and agenda will break the backbone of the Armenian statehood. Let’s be sober while there is still a possibility to restore the subjectivity of Nagorno-Karabakh and reach its administrative and civilizational autonomy. The dialogue between Stepanakert and Baku, which will not be symmetrical, has no alternative. Tomorrow will be too late...”

It is noteworthy that Azerbaijani media actively spread a video where the commander of the Russian peacekeeping contingent in Artsakh, Andrey Volkov, states that an agreement has been reached to build a mini-customs post with the Azerbaijani side: “A decision has been made to install special equipment at the entrance to our first checkpoint.” However, the information was denied from Artsakh.

Let us recall that on December 3, the Artsakh information headquarters announced that the Shushi-Karin Tak intersection was closed; a group of Azerbaijanis in civilian clothes had blocked the Stepanakert-Goris highway under the pretext of environmental reasons.
