David Sahakyan Also Refuses Parliamentary Mandate

David Sahakyan, a candidate for parliament from the Armenia alliance, will not be taking up the parliamentary mandate. He announced this on his Facebook page.

“After the national disaster of 2020, I had a strong desire to join the movement for the salvation of the state and statehood. However, having encountered injustice and witnessing a situation where the same powers that led to a disastrous defeat in war and irretrievable losses continue to rule and drive the country to ruin, I realized that I am powerless to change anything, even with a parliamentary mandate. Being unaffiliated, I participated in the parliamentary elections in 2021 on the opposition Armenia alliance's list, but now I do not find it appropriate to engage in parliamentary activities under the current circumstances, and therefore, I will continue to serve the state and society in my sphere. Tomorrow, I will submit my application to refuse the mandate to the Central Electoral Commission,” he stated.

He also added that what is currently needed in the National Assembly is not a cultural figure, but the presence of exorcists (a rite by which evil forces are removed from a person).
