A Senior Military School May Be Established in Ashtarak's Academic Town, Says Prime Minister
A senior military school may be established in the academic town planned for construction in Ashtarak. This was stated by Armenia's Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan during a question-and-answer session with the government in the National Assembly.
“We are currently working on this idea. Perhaps we will create a school based on the foundation of Monte Melkonyan School, where there will be a full course for high school along with a complete first-year course. Moreover, this school must accommodate both boys and girls. Children who are considering military service will first come to this school for training and preliminary preparation,” said Pashinyan.
According to him, students of this school will essentially complete the first year of military education, after which they will continue their studies at the police academy, military university, etc.
It is worth mentioning that the idea of creating an academic town has been initiated by the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture, and Sport of Armenia, where up to eight universities will be located. The preliminary layout of the town has already been developed. In addition to universities, residential areas, research centers, parks, and an amphitheater are also planned to be established in the town. The town is designed for up to 50,000 people.
The academic town is intended to be located in the vicinity of the Scientific Research Institute of Physical Research, Radiophysics, and Electronics of the National Academy of Sciences of Armenia and surrounding areas.
