Turkish-Azerbaijani military exercises are a tool to pressure Armenia, stated Arthur Khachatryan, a member of the National Assembly from the 'Armenia' faction, during a conversation with journalists in the Parliament.

“These authorities believe that by conceding Artsakh, they will be able to save Armenia, but this is not the case, because Azerbaijan's goal is not only Artsakh; first of all, it is Syunik, and then the entirety of Armenia,” he said.

Arthur Khachatryan believes that pressures will also increase in the area of the Lachin corridor. “When the authorities of the Republic of Armenia signed the disgraceful November 9 document, from November 10 onwards, they should have been working on the construction of a new Lachin corridor instead of sitting with their hands folded. Let us not forget that this is not just a road; gas pipelines and power lines pass through it, as well as telephone and internet communication. They did not relocate those and gave that leverage to Azerbaijan,” he noted.

When asked what the government should do today, Khachatryan responded, “They must refuse to concede to Azerbaijan each time, strengthen the army rather than saying, ‘We have given the money, but the weapons have not been provided.’ They must be able to mobilize the international community because we see that Armenia is not receiving any effective support.”

He emphasized that the weapons that Pashinyan purchased, particularly the SU-30 aircraft, were not utilized even for a minute during the war. “After that, according to him, he spent hundreds of millions, and the weapons did not arrive. Therefore, we fought with the weapons purchased in the past. Previously, they held positions with cans of preserves, now there are no cans of preserves, and there are no positions either,” said the opposition MP.
