Discussion on the Return of Assets Illegally Taken from Armenia Held in the USA

The Deputy Prosecutor General of the Republic of Armenia, Srbuhi Galayan, is on a working visit to the USA from December 5-12, attending the 20th international conference titled "Against Corruption," organized by Transparency International in Washington.

On December 5, Srbuhi Galayan met with representatives of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). The Armenian Ambassador to the USA, Lilit Makunts, also participated in the meeting. The parties evaluated the existing cooperation highly and discussed the prospects for continued and effective collaboration.

Specifically, the meeting addressed issues related to the return of assets acquired through criminal means, enhancing the effectiveness of the joint fight against money laundering, and various legal assistance matters in the context of criminal proceedings.

During her visit, Srbuhi Galayan also met with staff from the Department of Justice to discuss issues related to the return of assets taken out of Armenia and increasing the effectiveness of cooperation.
