What is Known About the Plane Crash in Jraberd
In Jraberd village of Kotayk Province, there is currently no individual charged in the criminal case initiated to clarify the circumstances of the plane crash that occurred on December 1. This was stated by Gor Abrahamyan, the spokesperson for the Investigative Committee, in an interview with NEWS.am.
“Certain examinations have been appointed, and the case has not yet reached the stage of involving defendants,” noted Abrahamyan.
The spokesperson added that there are citizens who have been questioned, but did not specify their number.
The Civil Aviation Committee has informed the media that the B55 type aircraft was registered in Slovakia and was private.
Is it possible that the case will be transferred to Slovakia at some stage? Abrahamyan mentioned that it is still too early to discuss that issue.
Recall that on December 1, at 14:20, information was received by the National Center for Crisis Management that a B55 type plane had fallen and caught fire in the area of Jraberd village in Kotayk Province. Russian citizens, the pilots A.P. (born 1979) and V.R. (born 1983) lost their lives in the incident.
It is known that the aircraft was a two-seater, which took off from Zvartnots Airport and headed towards Astrakhan. The aircraft lost contact during the flight. It crashed in an open field, and no other infrastructure was damaged.
