Who Will Be the Next Armenian Football Star? British Journalists Discuss Armenian Player
British journalists have found an Armenian who is set to become a football star. This was reported by Sports.ru.
Every year, The Guardian in England publishes a list of the best talents in world football, called the Next Generation. This year, among the world's most promising 17-year-old footballers, one player from Armenia has made the ranking: Garniq Minasian, a midfielder from FC Urartu.
Here’s what they wrote about him in Britain:
“Minasian's rapid ascent has not gone unnoticed in Armenia. While he was not considered a great talent as a child, he has produced two impressive seasons since turning 15. He has scored 24 goals and provided 31 assists, numbers that are astonishing even at the youth level.
His performance allowed him to move to the youth team 'Urartu-2,' which competes in Armenia's second division. Minasian is a perfect and agile box-to-box player who reads the game well, possesses excellent technique, and directs his team's play.
He has a brilliant vision of the pitch, distributes passes across different areas expertly, and calmly converts opportunities. According to local media, scouts from France and Belgium have already come to check on his progress, so a move to Europe seems to be just a matter of time.”
