We Have Shortcomings in Yerevan's Pre-holiday Lighting, Says Hrachya Sargsyan
Public discussions regarding the city's pre-holiday decorations this year have been significantly more numerous than usual, due to the shortcomings in our lighting work. We will do everything possible to rectify the situation.
This was stated by Yerevan Mayor Hrachya Sargsyan on his Facebook page.
“However, our country has the honor this year to host delegations for the Children's Eurovision International Competition, and this is a unique opportunity to best host them and showcase the capital city of Yerevan and its residents from all perspectives. I am more than confident that discussions would have occurred even in the complete absence of decorations; however, jokes and criticisms in that case would sound more like incompetence and a way to misrepresent our country to the international community. Nevertheless, let us appreciate the work already done and share the wonder with our children, as Republic Square has truly become part of that wonder. We will meet on December 5 for the lighting ceremony of the Christmas tree,” Sargsyan wrote.
