This is also a blow to Russian peacekeepers. This is how the authorities in Artsakh respond to the actions of Azerbaijanis who allegedly closed the Goris-Stepanakert highway due to environmental reasons yesterday.

Such a belief was expressed by the acting Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Artsakh, Davit Babayan, in relation to the latest Azerbaijani provocation. He noted that one should not be surprised by similar provocations from the Azerbaijanis. Earlier, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a statement regarding the incident, classifying it as an element of genocide and calling on the international community to restrain the aggressor.

It is worth recalling that the Artsakh information headquarters reported yesterday that a group of Azerbaijanis in civilian clothes had closed the Stepanakert-Goris highway at the intersection near Shushi-Karin Tak under the pretext of environmental reasons.

"It is obvious that Azerbaijan is resorting to provocation to disrupt the ground connection between Armenia and Artsakh and to subject the peaceful population to psychological terror. The command of the Russian peacekeeping forces stationed in Artsakh has been appropriately informed about the incident. The authorized state bodies of Artsakh are taking all possible measures towards resolving the situation," the statement mentioned.

After three hours of negotiations mediated by Russian peacekeepers, the Azerbaijanis reopened the road.
