Putin to Visit Donbass: Peskov Talks About His Plans

Russian President Vladimir Putin will finally visit Donbass. This was announced on Saturday, December 3, by Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov.

On October 5, Vladimir Putin signed a federal constitutional law on the admission of liberated territories into the Russian Federation. According to the law, residents of the Donetsk and Luhansk People's Republics, as well as the Kherson and Zaporizhzhia regions, are recognized as citizens of the Russian Federation starting from the day they joined.

On November 2, the flags of the DPR, LPR, Zaporizhzhia, and Kherson regions were ceremonially placed on the boulevard of flags in the Federation Council.

On February 24, Russia launched a special military operation for the protection of Donbass. This decision was taken against the backdrop of escalating tensions in the region due to shelling by Ukrainian military forces.
