Mirzoyan and Reeker Meet: What Was Discussed

On December 3, Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan received Philip Reeker, the U.S. Co-chair of the OSCE Minsk Group and Senior Advisor for Caucasus Negotiations. The interlocutors discussed the latest developments regarding the normalization of relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan, as well as the Nagorno-Karabakh issue.

Ararat Mirzoyan emphasized that the manifestations of the use of force and threats by Azerbaijan, ongoing provocations, and bellicose statements are the main obstacles to establishing stable peace in the region.

They exchanged views on ensuring the rights and security guarantees of the Armenians of Nagorno-Karabakh, as well as the creation of an international mechanism for discussions between Stepanakert and Baku.

Mirzoyan and Reeker also discussed the delimitation process between Armenia and Azerbaijan and the unblocking of regional transport infrastructure.

Addressing the security challenges in the region, the Armenian Foreign Minister particularly stressed the necessity of addressing the consequences of Azerbaijan's aggression against Armenia's territorial integrity and sovereignty, as well as the imperative for the withdrawal of Azerbaijani armed forces from Armenian sovereign territory.
