Artsakh President's Spokesperson on Closure of Stepanakert-Goris Highway by Azerbaijanis
We have established contact with the Russian peacekeeping forces in Artsakh, through whom we are trying to stabilize the situation. This was stated by Lusine Avanesyan, the press secretary of the Artsakh President, in an interview with Auroranews, commenting on reports that a group of Azerbaijanis dressed in civilian clothes has allegedly closed the Stepanakert-Goris highway for environmental reasons at the Shushi-Karin Tak intersection.
“We are constantly in touch, and information will be provided regarding the situation,” Avanesyan said.
It should be noted that the Artsakh information headquarters has just reported that a group of Azerbaijanis in civilian clothes has closed the Stepanakert-Goris highway at the Shushi-Karin Tak intersection citing environmental reasons.
“It is evident that Azerbaijan is provoking a disruption of the land connection between Armenia and Artsakh and subjecting the peaceful population to psychological terror with this action. The command of the Russian peacekeeping contingent stationed in Artsakh is properly informed about the incident. The authorized state bodies of Artsakh are taking all possible measures to resolve the situation,” the statement said.
Azerbaijani media have released a photograph showing Russian peacekeepers at the scene.
