New Details on the Explosions of the 'Nord Streams'

Hans Livong, an associate professor of defense systems at the Swedish Defense Research Agency, stated in an interview with the Expressen newspaper that explosive charges were placed outside the gas pipelines in the Nord Stream.

According to him, these were "quite large, high-precision charges placed near the pipes." The expert speculated that they might have been deployed from a surface vessel. In his view, the operation could have been controlled from one or several ships.

As leading prosecutor Mats Jungqvist informed the publication, the picture of what occurred on the pipelines is beginning to become clear. The article also notes that according to another hypothesis, underwater vehicles were used to carry out the explosions, from which divers placed charges on the pipelines.

Earlier, the Die Welt newspaper reported that two unidentified vessels with disabled transmitters may have been involved in the surveillance before the explosions near the Nord Stream pipelines.

On September 26, explosions and gas leaks were recorded in the Nord Stream and Nord Stream 2 gas pipelines. Seismologists registered two explosions along the routes of the gas pipelines.

The Russian Federal Security Service has launched an investigation into the international terrorism aspect of the case. The Swedish prosecutor's office has begun investigating the incidents. The pipeline operator Nord Stream AG has stated that it is currently impossible to assess the timelines for the restoration of the pipelines.

Russia and Turkey are working on creating a gas hub that would allow for the transit of gas from the 'Nord Stream.'
