Scottish Man Forgets English After Brain Tumor Seizure, Can Only Speak French

A resident of Glenrothes, Scotland, has reported that following a seizure caused by a brain tumor, he forgot how to speak English and could only communicate and think in French. According to Tert.am, Daily Mail has reported this story.

Marcus Jones began experiencing headaches last September, shortly after the birth of his son, Finnick. Initially diagnosed with epilepsy, subsequent scans revealed a tumor on the occipital lobe. Side effects include vision problems, memory loss, and brain fog. During one of his seizures, he lost the ability to speak English.

The 24-year-old Jones recounted, “It was terrifying. I could see my partner and was trying to tell her that I was having a seizure, but I could only think and speak in French. It lasted just a few minutes, but I was able to think fluently and understood that it was French, then I started speaking English again.”

The man is currently preparing for surgery.
