80 Percent Salary Increase for Constitutional Court Judges

Under the leadership of Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, the inaugural meeting of the Council for Ongoing Monitoring of the Implementation of the Judicial and Legal Reform Strategy 2022-2026 and its associated action plan was held.

The agenda included the approval of the council's working procedures, the reporting format, and methodological guidelines for monitoring and evaluation. Subsequently, the measures implemented in accordance with the aforementioned strategy for the reform and development of the justice sector were presented.

A report on the progress of judicial system reforms was provided. It was noted that a law has come into force establishing an 80 percent salary increase for judges of the Constitutional Court, and a 50 percent increase for judges of the Court of Cassation. A package for the formation of first-instance criminal and civil courts in Yerevan has been developed.

The draft for the establishment of an Appellate Anti-Corruption Court has received government approval and has been submitted to the National Assembly. A legislative package has been prepared to simplify procedural organization in administrative, civil, and bankruptcy cases, including the introduction of written procedures and the restoration of expedited proceedings in criminal cases.
