VIDEO: Another Achievement in Armenian Boxing. Erik Israelian Becomes World Champion

At the ongoing World Championship for Youth in Spain, the current European champion Erik Israelian (60 kg category) added a gold medal from the world championship to his titles by defeating Georgia's Gocha Gurdalava in the final.

The information was reported by the Armenian Boxing Federation.
“In the first round, Israelian was constantly in the lead and won with a score of 5:0. In the second round, the ring referee opened a questionable score in favor of the opponent, but Erik's advantage was so great that the judges awarded us the victory with a score of 3:2. In the third round, Erik knocked down the Georgian boxer twice, leaving the referees no choice but to award us a unanimous victory,” the report states.

It is noteworthy that on his way to being crowned champion, Erik Israelian had defeated opponents from India, Guatemala, and England.
