Condition of Military Equipment Transferred to Ukraine Revealed by The New York Times
According to sources cited by The New York Times, one third of the western howitzers sent to Ukraine are out of service. Overall, Western countries have provided Kyiv with 350 howitzers.
The New York Times, referencing officials from the U.S. and Ukraine, reports that the artillery being transferred by Western nations to Kyiv is frequently damaged. Weapons that have been damaged are being repaired in Poland, and maintaining the equipment has become a priority for the Pentagon's European command.
However, Kyiv has expressed dissatisfaction, believing that repairs should be conducted closer to the front lines so that the equipment can be returned to the battlefield more quickly.
