VIDEO: Underwater Footage of Damaged Section of Nord Stream 2 Gas Pipeline Released
Danish media have showcased underwater footage of the damaged section of the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline.
Recall that months ago, the Nord Stream gas pipeline was damaged. The Russian side claims that explosions were carried out with a specific intent to harm Russia.
Since the start of the Russia-Ukraine conflict, a genuine 'gas war' has commenced between Russia and the European Union. Since February 2022, Russia has systematically reduced gas supplies to the European Union, citing various reasons.
The shortage of Russian gas poses a significant threat of a major energy crisis in Europe, comparable to the oil crisis of the 1970s. According to European politicians, the aim of Russian policy was to force Europe into concessions regarding Ukraine and to achieve the lifting of some sanctions against Russia.
On August 31, 2022, Gazprom announced the indefinite suspension of the Nord Stream 1 pipeline, following several temporary shutdowns and reductions in gas supply volumes.
