Investigative Committee Launches Criminal Case on Soldier Wounded by Adversary

The Investigative Committee of Armenia has initiated a criminal case concerning a contracted soldier of the Ministry of Defense who sustained gunshot wounds from the armed forces of Azerbaijan.

According to preliminary information, on November 23, 2022, around 13:20, a serviceman of the Azerbaijani armed forces, motivated by racial, national, or ethnic origin, religion, hatred, intolerance, or animosity, opened fire toward a combat position in the protective area of the N military unit of the Ministry of Defense of Armenia. As a result, contracted soldier R.A. sustained a penetrating gunshot wound to the lower third of the left tibia. An investigation is underway.
