How Much has been Wagered in Armenia Against the Background of Advertising Restrictions

In Armenia, during the first nine months of this year, bets totaling 4.2 trillion drams have been recorded. This information has been provided by the Ministry of Finance. According to Civilnet, the volume of bets placed in Armenia continues to grow steadily, despite the government's belief that it is taking adequate measures to combat gambling.

According to the Ministry of Finance, the total volume of bets accepted by bookmakers has soared from 138.5 billion drams over the past five years to 3.9 trillion drams.

In 2017, the total was 138.5 billion drams
In 2018, it increased to 333.6 billion drams
In 2019, it reached 1.1 trillion drams
In 2020, it was nearly 2 trillion drams
In 2021, it amounted to 3.9 trillion drams

It is evident that the figures for the first nine months of 2022 have already surpassed those of the previous year, exhibiting tendencies for expansion due to the bets placed on the World Cup games taking place in Qatar.

Despite the government's restrictions on the advertising of bookmakers and the locations from which they operate, the volume of bets shows no signs of decline, rather it is demonstrating trends of increase.
