Tokayev on Armenian-Azerbaijani Relations and CSTO
The strategic course of Kazakhstan aimed at strengthening friendship and mutually beneficial cooperation with the allies and partners in the CSTO region remains unchanged. This was stated by Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev during the CSTO Collective Security Council meeting in Yerevan.
The President of Kazakhstan added that this meeting of the leaders of the CSTO countries is taking place in a geopolitically complex period. "Conflicts continue in our region, undermining stability and security in the Eurasian space. In these conditions, it is crucial to maintain and develop open and constructive dialogue. This is an effective way to overcome complex crises and disagreements," Tokayev said.
He noted that they are interested in resolving relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan. "We hope that the peacekeeping efforts of the Russian side will enable the Armenian-Azerbaijani conflict to be resolved exclusively through political and diplomatic methods and bring the parties to the signing of a peace agreement," Tokayev added.
