Video: Most Questions Have Been Agreed Upon, Mirzoyan at CSTO Foreign Ministers Council Extraordinary Meeting
Today, an extraordinary meeting of the CSTO Foreign Ministers Council was held in Yerevan. The Armenian Ministry of Foreign Affairs published the opening remarks of Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan:
"Dear colleagues, I welcome you to Yerevan, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. I am glad to see all of you. Today we are holding a meeting of foreign ministers, and tomorrow there will be a regular joint session of the CSTO foreign ministers, defense ministers, and the secretaries of the security councils in the current format.
We will discuss many important issues, crucial for our countries and, in general, for the CSTO. This meeting is also significant for us, as it is the first in the current format after Azerbaijan's aggression against the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Republic of Armenia in September of this year.
On our agenda are nearly two dozen documents concerning the coordination of foreign policy, military-political cooperation, new threats and challenges, and, of course, the overall situation in the South Caucasus.
The majority of the drafts and issues have already been agreed upon; the Coordination Commission has been working under the leadership of Stanislav Zas yesterday and today. I hope we will have an effective exchange of ideas and I propose to start our work," said Mirzoyan.
