Russia Bombards Ukraine; Several Cities Left Without Electricity

Russia has launched nearly a hundred missiles towards Ukraine, surpassing the intensity of the mass missile strike on October 10, during which 84 missiles were fired. Following the mass missile attack, NPC Ukrenergo ordered emergency shutdowns of electricity across Ukraine, including in Kyiv.

“This is a necessary step to balance the energy system and avoid equipment failures. The stabilization shutdown schedule is not yet operational. At least half of the capital’s subscribers are without power,” said Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko.

Kharkiv, Lviv, Rivne, and other cities have faced bombardments. Kharkiv Mayor Igor Terekhov reported that the city has been partially left without power due to attacks on infrastructure facilities. In Lviv, parts of the city center are without electricity following several strong explosions. Rivne Mayor Oleksandr Tretyak stated that the Russians targeted a significant infrastructure facility, resulting in some areas of the city losing power.

The timelines for restoring electricity are still unknown.
