What Vruyr Barseghyan, arrested in the Pemzashen case, has revealed: details from the interrogation

It has become known what one of the arrested individuals in the brutal murder case of a mother and her two children in Pemzashen has told law enforcement officials.

According to exclusive information obtained by ArmLur.am, Vruyr Barseghyan, a resident of Pemzashen, is the only one among the arrested to provide a complete account of the events to law enforcement at this time. He stated during the preliminary investigation that he entered the house at night through the main door, which was open.

They had entered Zarine Meliksetyan's home with the intent to commit theft, but when a chaotic situation ensued, the family members resisted. They tied up the family members, after which they resorted to sexual violence.

Notably, Vardan Tadevosyan, the spokesperson for the Investigative Committee, confirmed to Auroranews that the criminals committed sexual violence against the 12-year-old daughter of the family that was killed in Pemzashen.

The media notes that according to Vruyr Barseghyan, after carrying out their actions, they exited through the main door of the house and left.

It has also come to light that the other arrested individual in the criminal proceedings, Arkadi Barseghyan, who is the nephew of Vruyr Barseghyan, is refusing to give testimony or disclose details of the incident.

Another significant point is that Vruyr Barseghyan has health issues and is registered at one of Armenia's psychiatric hospitals.

It should be recalled that on November 9, an extraordinary and tragic incident occurred in one of the houses in the village of Pemzashen, within the enlarged community of Artik in Shirak Province. The occupants of the house did not respond to knocks on the door, and after opening the door in the presence of law enforcement, three bodies were found on the floor: house residents Zarine Meliksetyan, her daughter Karine Meliksetyan, and her 8-year-old son.

For several days, law enforcement officials were unable to identify the perpetrators who brutally murdered the family members, but on November 12, the suspects were discovered, and one of them, Vruyr Barseghyan, confessed.
