Tense Situation in Pemzashen, Residents Shocked by Murders

In the village of Pemzashen, Artik community of Shirak province, there is still no explanation for the murders of a 31-year-old woman and her two minor children. Agasi Vardanyan, the administrative head of Pemzashen, told 24News this information.

On November 9, the Investigative Committee of Armenia issued a statement that necessary measures are being taken by the Shirak regional investigative department to clarify the circumstances surrounding the murder of the Pemzashen resident and her two children.

A report was received on November 9, 2022, at 12:28 PM, regarding the residents of house number 10 on 1st Street in Pemzashen not responding to knocks on the door and phone calls. An operational group immediately arrived at the specified address and, upon opening the front door, discovered the bodies of the residents in the bedroom: a woman born in 1991, her daughter born on December 7, 2010, and her son born on June 12, 2014, all with stab wounds.

According to Agasi Vardanyan, the situation in Pemzashen is tense, and people are shocked by the murders. He struggled to identify the possible motives for the killings, stating, “We are all interested in that question.”

Vardanyan mentioned that he knew the family, describing them as “normal, working people.” The father of the family had returned from abroad. Investigative actions are still ongoing. Regarding the family's lifestyle, Agasi Vardanyan noted that they lived normally; the 31-year-old murdered woman worked as an operator at the local polyclinic, while her husband was employed abroad.
