Yevgeny Prigozhin Appeals Court Regarding 'Wagner Group' Issue

Businessman Yevgeny Prigozhin is attempting to legally challenge the decision made by 'Gosstroyndzor', which has prohibited the operation of the 'Wagner Group' center located in St. Petersburg. This was reported by the press service of Prigozhin's 'Concord' company, as stated by RTVI.

According to the published document, the regulatory body justified its rejection by stating that the center's building does not meet the terms of the land lease on which it was constructed.

In the press service's commentary, it is mentioned that this refusal is "baseless and illegal", as the lease agreement allows for modifications to the property's area for an additional fee.

"Retail LLC has fully paid for the surplus area to the city's treasury within the terms and procedures established by the contract. All obligations have been fulfilled by the investor," the press service's statement indicates.

When asked about possible reasons for the rejection by the state construction oversight body, the press service responded that the decision may be based on "ideological reasons", as "all permissions for the construction of the building have been obtained".

The commentary from 'Concord' also states that a lawsuit has been filed "... for the protection and restoration of rights". "If the involvement of criminal intent is confirmed in the actions of Governor Alexander Beglov and other officials of the executive bodies of the St. Petersburg state authority, we will act according to the established procedures for such cases," the press service warned.

The 'Wagner Group' center opened on November 4. It is located near the 'Novocherekaskaya' metro station in St. Petersburg, in the former public and business complex 'Marine Capital'. According to Prigozhin, who presents himself as the founder of the 'Wagner Group', the center was created to "create a comfortable environment and generate new ideas aimed at enhancing Russia's defense capabilities, including information-related aspects."
