VIDEO: Samvel Petrosyan Serving in the Russian Armed Forces Nominated for the 'Courage' Medal
Ethnic Armenian Samvel Petrosyan has been nominated for the 'Courage' medal for his participation in the liberation of Mariupol and for exhibiting bravery during the operations.
The Russian Ministry of Defense has released a video featuring Samvel Petrosyan, who serves as the acting commander of a Grad multiple launch rocket system. In the video, he recounts his experiences participating in combat operations.
It is noted that Petrosyan gained particular notoriety during the battle for the liberation of Azovstal, where he played a significant role in neutralizing the enemy forces stationed there.
Samvel Petrosyan has been serving in the Russian Armed Forces for seven years. He has been part of the special operation since the very first day, starting from February 24.
Petrosyan mentions that they conduct several combat operations both at night and during the day, and that the enemy has been unable to retaliate effectively against them.
“They have fired in our direction, which may have frightened us, but it did not stop us. Initially, of course, there was fear because nothing was known. It is one thing to shoot at stationary targets during exercises, and another when you hear artillery shells exploding nearby,” he says.
According to Petrosyan, real combat does not forgive mistakes and carelessness.
