EU Announces Inability to Allocate Promised Funds to Ukraine

The First Vice-President of the European Commission, Valdis Dombrovskis, has stated that the European Union will not be able to allocate 3 billion euros to Ukraine as support. This amount represents one third of the macro-financial assistance program promised by the European Commission in May. This information has been reported by TASS.

“Regarding the 3 billion euros, we indeed had broad discussions about this amount, which is part of the remaining 9 billion euros announced in May. Unfortunately, it has turned out to be impossible to determine how to move forward this year,” Dombrovskis stated.

According to the Deputy Head of the European Commission, the EU will make the payment by the beginning of 2023 as part of the next credit support program.
