“It has been two years, how long must we wait?”: Aliyev

“It has been two years, how long must we wait?”: Aliyev

The Zangezur corridor is Armenia's obligation, stated Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev.

“For two years we have not offered any assistance to vehicles traveling to and from Nagorno-Karabakh via Lachin. We are committed to our obligations to ensure free movement. Armenia has pledged to facilitate the connection between Azerbaijan's western regions and Nakhchivan. Two years have passed, and there is no railway, no road. How long must we wait?” he noted.

It is important to recall that Armenian authorities have repeatedly stated that there is no clause regarding the Zangezur corridor in the signed documents, and the Armenian side is ready to allow Azerbaijani vehicles to pass through its territory. However, Aliyev continues to make statements that distort reality.

“Armenia is ready to provide roads, open routes, meaning to provide all existing roads so that both Azerbaijan and Turkey can use these routes. But all these roads will be under the sovereign control of Armenia, and in this regard, we have spoken publicly and informed our partners about this,” stated Secretary of the Security Council Armen Grigoryan.
