Dogs Are Being Poisoned and Dying in Agony: What’s Happening Near the Nor Nork Municipality Park

Dogs in the park adjacent to the Nor Nork Municipality are consuming something that results in their poisoning and subsequent painful deaths. Citizens have raised alarms on social media regarding this issue. Reports mention that in the stomach of one of the deceased animals, pieces of sausage have been discovered, which are believed to be poisoned.

This behavior of "dog hunters" is not new in the world, but it is new in Armenia. However, it remains unclear who they are and what their intentions are.

MediaHub.am reached out to Armen Mheryan, the head of the Nor Nork administrative district, for clarification on this matter. He acknowledged being aware of the situation but does not see intentional malice behind it.

“The park is in a neglected state, and we have been receiving various alerts regarding this area. We have spoken with the police and the police chief; they are already carrying out enhanced services. We have decided to completely renovate the park to avoid such issues in the future, and we are planning to build designated areas for our fellow citizens who keep dogs, where they can take their pets for walks,” he stated.

According to Mheryan, citizens have not reported these incidents to the police or filed complaints during this time. “During the enhanced service period, no unusual phenomena have been noticed, but people need to report so that the police understand the specific location, draw conclusions, and take actions accordingly, or they should have the results of forensic examinations on hand. If it turns out that this is being done intentionally, it will certainly be punishable by law,” he added.
