«That means from the next day I will no longer be Khachatour Sukiasyan and Nikol Pashinyan will no longer be Nikol Pashinyan» - Sukiasyan
The member of the Civil Contract party, Khachatour Sukiasyan, explained the conditions under which the area of the "Sil Plaza" business center in the center of Yerevan was privatized. He stated: "We were persuaded for a long time that it is in the center of the city, you have money, please take it. We said we don’t want to because we do not find it expedient right now. After long negotiations, my father convinced me. We understood that if we come to the conclusion that the building should be reconstructed, we would face various problems in that yard. Those problems arose; they said 4 apartments, we acquired 5 apartments. There was a wall about 4 meters high, then that wall was raised by 1 meter and 20 centimeters. On Abovyan Street, it was about 10 meters long, and about 8 meters on Arami Street. There was a wall, and there were small houses in the yard. All the houses in the yard were demolished. They sold us 6 meters wide; the remaining 30 meters were the result of purchasing those houses, passing, and becoming 'Sil Plaza'," said Sukiasyan.
According to the MP, he was not surprised that the Prosecutor's Office is contesting the legality of the property. "I am happy, I am glad because I am responsible for all my actions, I know what our system is like. There may be some misunderstanding or confusion, but we do not violate the law; this has been established in our family from the outset." Sukiasyan stated that it is out of the question for him to discuss this issue with Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan. "That means from the next day, I will no longer be Khachatour Sukiasyan and Nikol Pashinyan will no longer be Nikol Pashinyan. I do not allow myself," he emphasized.
It is noteworthy that the Prosecutor General's Office is legally contesting the privatization of the 'Sil Plaza' business center located in the center of Yerevan.
