Our position on Artsakh significantly differs from today’s situation: Ara Aivazyan is at France Square
I am at France Square in defense of Artsakh, the Diaspora, and Armenia, because I believe that contrary to all kinds of discussions and hypotheses, it is clear to all of us that for our enemies, there is no difference whether one is from Artsakh, Armenia, or the Diaspora. For the Turks, we are all enemies, and those gathered here are united for the Armenian cause.
This was stated by former Foreign Minister Ara Aivazyan during a conversation with reporters at Liberty Square. When asked if one of the demands of the rally was the removal of Prime Minister Pashinyan, does he demand the same, Ara Aivazyan said: 'I believe that the meaning of this rally today is around the interests of Artsakh and Armenia, and that is why I am here.'
To the question of how the solutions were during his tenure at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and now Washington and Russian solutions are being discussed, Ara Aivazyan replied: 'I think you have followed the position of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs during my tenure, which significantly differs from today’s situation. I assert that the stance adopted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs at that time was the right solution, and we must stand on those principles. That is, the solution to the Artsakh issue should be anchored in the right of the people of Artsakh to self-determination.'
He mentioned that he had no discussions with members of the current government after the end of his tenure.
