How Much Will the Eurovision Song Contest for Children 2022 Cost to Host in Armenia?

The Ministry of High-Tech Industry of Armenia has conducted calculations and presented them to the government, detailing the total expenses estimated for organizing the Eurovision Song Contest for Children 2022 in Armenia this December. Accordingly, the total expenses for organizing the contest are expected to amount to 5 billion AMD.

The expenditure will be carried out by the Public Television of Armenia from the government's reserve fund. A portion of this, specifically 2 billion 299 million AMD, was allocated to the contest organizers by a government decision on October 24, 2022, for the procurement of LED screens, lighting equipment, electric generators, and management systems for the lighting equipment.

Taking into account the time constraints, it was decided to execute the procurement without announcing a competition, via a single-source purchasing procedure. At today's government session, an additional 2 billion 248 million AMD was allocated to the Public Television. This amount is also intended for the procurement of technical equipment and, again, through a single-source purchasing option, but this time from foreign supplier companies.

According to the project, electric generators are planned to be purchased from the Bulgarian company Pro Cinema at a price of 39 euros, audio equipment will be rented from the Polish company ATM System Sp. Z.o.o. for 793,300 euros, management programs for lighting equipment will be acquired from the German company Raphael Demonthy for 116,400 euros, and stage pyrotechnics and special effects will be provided by the Portuguese company IgnitionConcept for 136,500 euros. Stage special constructions will be rented and serviced by the Belarusian company Local Team (950,000 USD) and the Armenian company Stage Style LLC (330 million AMD).

These expenses combined will total 4 billion 998 million AMD.

"During the organization of large-scale events such as this, unforeseen expenses may arise, which may be realistically unpredictable. Therefore, the company will make efforts to carry out unanticipated expenses arising within the framework of the contest's organization within the prescribed overall budget or seek alternative funding sources for their financing," the ministry stated in its justification.
