Complexities in Relations with Turkey Have Been Overcome: Pashinyan
During the presentation of the 2023 budget draft in the National Assembly, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan addressed the topic of Armenian-Turkish relations. He stated, "I have not verified whether such statistics have ever been recorded before, but in any case, this is not ordinary statistics and deserves to be noted. The year 2022 is exceptional in that the head of Armenia has had direct communication with the leaders of all neighboring countries without exception—there have been phone conversations and meetings."
In this context, Pashinyan spoke about the prospects for the normalization of Armenian-Turkish relations. He emphasized, "I consider it very important that this year we have had both a phone conversation and a meeting with the Turkish leader." Pashinyan noted that the communication complexities and difficulties in relations with Turkey have been overcome. According to him, this is a significant change, and it is essential to promote the agenda of peace.
