VIDEO: A Man Steals a Payment Terminal Calmly, Loads It into a Car and Leaves
On October 27, between 15:00 and 15:30, an individual wearing a hat and a medical mask approached a building on Tetcher Street in Gyumri with a car that had no license plates. He parked the vehicle and, in the literal sense of the term, committed a calm theft. The stolen item was a payment terminal. Without showing any rush, he loaded the terminal into the car and drove away.
About two hours after the incident, upon noticing that the payment terminal was missing, the witnesses called the police. Officers from the Mush police station began to take operational-investigative measures. There were certain circumstances that complicated the case; no one had seen the man's face, and the car bore no license plates. Only the make of the car was clear.
It was established which streets the car had traveled, and operational information was concurrently received. It was also clarified that the car had been rented. The identity of the renter was confirmed to be a 25-year-old resident of Sarakap village. On October 28, Mush police officers located him in Gyumri, arrested him, and transported him along with the vehicle to the station.
It was discovered that the arrested individual had moved the payment terminal to a rural area on Savoyan Street and then withdrew 252,000 dram from it before leaving. The terminal has been recovered.
The investigation of the criminal case is ongoing.
